Flagstone can be found in regions throughout the U.S. “Flag” is Middle English for “turf.” Arizona is home to a wide variety of geologic structures, including beautiful sandstone–a type of flagstone. It likely received the name Flagstaff as a reflection of the rich, geologic panoramas throughout this area.
