Dogs enjoy chewing…and that includes bark mulch. Avoid cocoa mulch because it contains theobromine, a toxin that is dangerous to dogs. Also avoid pine needle much because the needles can puncture the lining of your dog’s stomach. Hemlock is a great choice because it isn’t toxic and also doesn’t leave slivers in skin and paws.
