Can you install bricks directly on top of a boring, cement patio?

June 23, 2025 by

Sort of. Its best to lay down a 1/2-1 inch bed of coarse sand onto the patio first, and then put your pavers on the sand. Before you “dig into” your project, make sure to examine the leveling of the patio to make sure the slope goes away from your home before installing hardscape on top of it.
